Open Woodland Restoration

Planting for Nature, Planning for Productivity

Seeding_TomR_3.jpeg

Bring wildlife back while increasing farm productivity and revenue streams.

Open Woodlands Restoration is a carbon sequestration strategy that recreates a natural mix of:

  • Widely spaced eucalyptus trees forming the main canopy.

  • Clumps of trees and shrubs broken up by grassy open areas.

  • Multiple layers of vegetation – trees, shrubs, and grasses working together.

This “clumpy and open” structure provides flexibility to work around existing paddock features while maintaining productive pasture.

The result is a highly productive landscape that encourages biodiversity while qualifying for carbon credits. It is a win-win-win for your farm.

Open Woodland Restoration supports wildlife while increasing farm productivity and growing revenue streams.

Is Open Woodland Restoration suitable for my farm?

There are 60 grants available to help farmers understand whether Open Woodlands Restoration will work on their farm. The $1000 grant will cover 100% of the cost of a professional feasibility study. There is no commitment to proceed with a project, and you get free membership of the mutual.
